Nomex®IIIA
For more than 30 years, protective apparel made from DuPont NOMEX®IIIA aramid fiber has provided superior protection from flames, flash fires and electric cars. The flame-resistance is permanent-it is part of the fiber itself, so it cannot be washed or worn out, even if the garment is mishandled. Garment of NOMEX ® IIIA helps protect workers in the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and electric and gas utility industries. Professional firefighters, race car drivers, military personnel and NASA astronaut crews also wear apparel of NOMEX® IIIA.
Durable and Cost Effective – A Complete Performance Package
- Longer Garment Wear Life – Garments of NOMEX exhibit very good resistance to abrasion, tear and a broad range of chemicals.
- Durability - On average, garments of NOMEX last three to five times longer than most other standard and protectie fabrics, including 100 per cent cotton, polyester/cotton blends and FRT cotton. Average wear life garments of NOMEX is five years and that they can be washed and worn at least 125 times, depending on the end-use environment. In contrast, garments of FRT cotton can be washed and worn an average of only 25 to 40 times.
- A Smart Investment - A lower initial purchase price does not necessarily indicate the best value in the long run nor does it provide the greatest overall benefit. A lower-priced garment that must be replaced frequently is more expensive than it first appears.
